It's amazing how little knowledge it takes to amass a group of cronies here willing to fight blindly for your cause.

I never ran off anyone. They just decide to be babies and pull the 'it's either he leaves or I leave' card, hoping to rally up everyone.

Fact is I was not WRONG, your little car god was and didn't want to suck it up.

I have admitted on ATOT when I have been wrong.

Don't go on empty, as it may damage the fuel pump, or so I was told.

HAHA this is awesome.

Roger Don't let some 19 y/o get you down. Remember when you were 19? ;)

As for the engineering arguement, I work in medical device manufacturing, I am involved in working with the engineers, I write Procedures, Tech Docs, User Manuals, and the like. I find faults and report them to the appropriate department. I work in engineering BUT I am not an engineer.

Munchies - If you don't know just admit it early, while it won't be as entertaining for us, you will not look so stupid. Then when you do Know what the heck you are talking about people might actually believe you. ;)

huh for just a ring and bearing job like you said previously??? How long do you think an engine takes to rebuild? Usually the long time frames a shop gives is one that outsources machining.

Another reason you don't want to run out of gas is some fuel injection systems will need to be primed to restart once ran dry.
1. No, nobody, you, me, Roger, Quix, or even Munchies can do 15 overhauls a week. Even the old style ring/bearing jobs, which really aren't the best way to go anyway.
That's 3 a day. No one man can do that many from start to finish. Nor can two men do it.
So unless you have a shop full of techs, no way you're doing 15 overhauls a week, much less doing high-performance rebuilds, which take MUCH longer if you're doing them right.

2. I don't know of a modern gas fuel injection that needs to be primed if you run out of gas. The pump automatically runs when you turn the key to "start", so it is self-priming. You can run any car out of gas, put some more in, then start it right back up. It will take a few more turns of the engine to pump the fuel back up there, or you can cycle the key a few times to do that if you don't want to keep the starter running that long.

3. About the 15 rebuilds of IHC engines a week....I'd be surprised if there are 15 people in the COUNTRY per week that need in IHC engine rebuilt, much less that many that want high-performance rebuilds.
Until I see a picture of a shop with about 30 engines in it waiting to be rebuilt, I am calling total BS.

I'd also like to know what Munchies has a 19:1 race engine in, and why he thinks he can run it on gas with water/alcohol injection.
Also if he really has such an engine, which I doubt, why anyone would be stupid enough to not run straight alcohol.
There isn't any racing gas currently available, unless you brew your own, which can handle that much compression. The only drag teams that run anywhere near that much compression formulate their own gas. And we're talking Pro Stock type engines/technology here.....no such technology exists or is useful in an IHC engine.

You don't have such a great following yourself .... however you are sadly mistaken if you feel I am hoping to win the crowd over or have a bunch of puppies at my heels giving me shout outs in each post.

I merely state the truth, how I *truly* feel/handle situations, and try to paint a fairly honest and open history of myself.

Your hate is only letting me know how jealous you are. Lack of attention would show so much more of true lack of caring.

that's about as ignorant as ariafrost

You know, that's pretty damn funny considering that you contribute nothing to any of the car threads, all you do is berate people and I have yet to see you give any advise or help anyone in the car repair threads.
I feel really sorry for you, you are a bitter unrelenting person who berates other members to make yourself feel better.

I am sure you are going to come back in this thread or others and try to put me down again, this only shows your true nature and nothing else.

No that is not true. I add to many car threads more than beration. What's wrong I rained on your praise parade or are you still bitter than I PROVED you wrong that absolutely no Factory Service Manuals for Aluminum Headed cars call for Anti-seize compound. How's about dem apples?

The problem is you feel like you are the AT Car God and absolutely no one else can measure up to your knowledge.

I thought you said you were leaving and never coming back.

Way to run off the only person (other than Quixfire) who knows anything about cars. You're an ass.
Don't forget Zemmervolt. He's knowledgable and helpful too.
Oh, and I nominate this for the funniest thread ever. :)

What's with the link to profanity? look in the mirror my friend.

in regards to the 15 engines a week...I am talking the crappy re-ring and bearing rebuilds so many shops dub a 'rebuilt' engine. Simple rehone and sometimes not even removing the head....

A proper rebuild has a reason it costs more than a simple reman'd short block sometimes.

Well.....

You have to understand that nobody is going to like you if you really made Roger leave. He is a very well respected member of this community.

Although, I agree that he shouldn't let stupid little sh!t get to him. This is the real world, there are going to be disagreements. We treat him like the car God because he is the car god on these forums. Nobody here can consistantly diagnose automotive problems over the internet like he can. He is a very experienced automotive diagnostician.

Quite frankly, we'd all rather have him around then you.

He really shouldn't let it get to him though... it's sad that it does. We wouldn't have any members if everybody left when they were disagreed with. :p

I truly disagree on that statement.

Having the time to constantly track car issues versus having true knowledge of cars are two different matters entirely.

Out of all AT's membership there are mechanics, engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc all far more capable of posting better answers than we see. They just don't have the time or want to be involved.

Being wrong here proves more acceptable than being right. There is no doubting he knows his stuff, but no one knows everything which is proven time and time again.

As far as who YOU'D rather have, that's fine....I am one of those people that aren't lemmings, I will say what I believe as opposed to what everyone wants to hear. If I see a 'popular' pick wrong, I will say so as well instead of just being their little pup and nodding my head like a bobble doll.

Whatever. You aren't giving Roger the credit he deserves. Nobody else helps with the YACT threads like he does. Nomatter how you paint it, it doesen't make his contribution to this community any less. So he was wrong on something. Big deal. And as something as trivial as anti-sieze compound. That's just silly. How about you just agree to disagree and say that using anti-sieze compound is never going to be a bad thing? :p

As far as being a lemming.... I am not being a lemming. Roger is respected here because he gives excellent, consistant advice to very real problems that everybody has had at some point.

What do you contribute?

may work on the nambla boards you are on, but I think there is no one here that doesn't realize you can change the image on the server without having to even edit the post.

you fear the mods admit it...if you are going to post up a big "F*CK YOU" image for me at least have the bravery to keep it or not post it at all.

you can stop shaking now, the mods won't hurt you....well maybe the S&M mod, it's friday and all.

look I never started these battles, everyone else does. I merely come in to a thread post a fact that instead of being agreed with, it's disputed despite being accepted by everyone else outside the post because it disagrees with some OP here.

I merely stated in Roger's thread I had a FACTORY manual that calls for anti-seize, the masses called "BS! SO AND SO IS GOD THIS IS BLASPHEMY!@!111one"....I posted a scan of the page from the manual and people talk about leaving the forums.

No one deserves credit here for anything they do....it's a free forum, you are under no obligation. I have helped a lot of people, yet people are more interested in proving me wrong than listening to what I have to say...but that is cool, many do get it and many get the accurate help they need.

As far as contributions...it'd take forever to list...but my last well known one was the tax threads.

I'm flattered, but I tend to get even more irritated than Roger and I don't know even a quarter as much.
