Someone told me this today. Is it really getting this expenisve, 'cause its only $2.24 right now.

Bout the same here. This sux. We need to liberate Saudi Arabia

LOL and you believe this?

"Someone told me that Canada was going to invade."
"Someone told me that gas prices were going to go to $.75 per gallon."

i heard this rumor last night at work. I filled up at 2.29/gal last night, haven't left the house yet today to confirm any truth to the rumor.

Ouch. It's been $2.40 lately here. It is only going to affect me for driving home (I goto college about 3 hrs away). I fill up about 30 minutes before I get back here because the gas is cheap in these little towns and since this college town is so small I go only a couple of miles each trip and can have my whole tank last until I go back home.

somehow the gas station is hesitant of charging gas over 3 bucks, even here in the bay area.
I have seen prices like 2.79-2.91-2.99. maybe they worry that the number '3' will scare away drivers...

In my opinion it will reach or come damn close to $3 per gallon, but it sure won't be over night.

Oil futures are down off their recent highs, currently trading at $57/bbl. Gas prices at the pump should begin trending slightly downward by next week.

I did hear there were gas stations in Saginaw charging this claiming that the Hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico was cutting off the supply.

More like price gouging I'd assume. It's still $2.30-$2.40 in Lansing as of an hour ago.

Being overtaxed is not something to be proud of. Contrary to popular myth, it does not spur the development of alternative fuels, as the British government is addicted to the revenue.

I haven't driven aggressively in some time now since the wallet's thin...filling up on premium in Troy is not fun.

ah well.

Just start sending emails to 10 of your friends. Bill Gates will give you $1,000 if you do. That's what someone told me. That will help cover your higher fuel costs. 😛

Seriously...a 30-mile lakefront, spirited drive now costs 50 cents more than it did 5 years ago.

That price difference is definitely going to make me change my weekend plans...
