Gas door on '02 Saturn SC2 won't close... How do I fix it?

I took my car into the dealership for some repairs and they washed my car. It's -30 outside and obviously the gas door froze shut.

I pulled the release on from the inside of the car and it opened, but now the door wont close.

I don't know if something broke off or some little pin is just pushed in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Can you see the pin sticking out? If so just try pushing it in with your finger and see if it moves. If it is going in and out like it's supposed to, you will just have to bend out the metal latch on the door itself. If it is stuck you will have to thaw it out and see if it will work. If your temperature is going to be over 32 (which I doubt seeing where you are from) you could just pour some hot water on it and see what happens.

Acetylene torch should do the trick.

a 2002 Saturn SC2 is plastic... remember the innovative stuff that GM did with Saturn? while the SC2 still had the dent resistant plastic...
