Office Depot is clearing out the Garmin eTrex GPS for $76.xx. They also have the eMap knocked down a bit too. The lowest price I found last week for the eTrex as $95.99 shipped from dsports.com with a 20% off and free shipping coupon. This is a great deal...

Thank. Did you see the price on GPS III? I'd like to get GPS III. The closest store is almost a hundred miles from here. I just drove 200 mils trip to Compusa tried to get a skymap. Online price said $99 and it was available. But when they scanned it, they wanted to charge me $120 for the unit. talked to the store manager didn't help. He couldn't do price match even with their online store. It's annoying. Enough skymap hunt for me. I'll go for Trex. I think I used to see Costco had GPS III on sale about $300. I can't confirm though. They don't have it anymore.

So you left empty-handed because of $20 dollar difference(I mean after a 200 mile trip)

I'm not sure if you're looking for mapping features, but if the eMap is on sale too, get it! You'll love it. I ended up getting the eMap instead of the eTrek when cmv made the first (dsport post) about it. The on board map is detailed down to the major city street level. It also has a window that tells you up coming off ramps as you're driving along the freeways (express ways for you east coasters). If you get the MetroGuide and Serial cable, then you can get some very cool features like more details, Gas stations etc.. etc.. with it.

If you can find the numerous threads cmv and I had on gps in the Hot Deals forum, I have links to DIY cheap cables and a link to make a 8Meg memory cart up to 128M.

Or go with the eMap Deluxe package, and get the 8M cart, MetroGuide and serial cable.

Does anyone have an officedepot near them that has the emap deluxe on sale (for less than the price listed on teh website $222) and NOT a display model? If so I would be willing to pay a small fee if they would pick one up for me and ship it to me. My e-mail address is gorham09@hotmail.com.

Anyone know the SKU's on this GPS? I went to two Office Depots and couldn't find any model for that price -- the minimum price is $129, and that's just a basic GPS with no software (a yellow one). In the alternative, could someone provide a link to the product online? I'm confused! I found four models, and none matched. :(

The yellow unit you saw was the Garmin eTrex GPS; and as per most Office Depot clearance sales, it is down to the individual store Manager as to what and when goes on clearance. My OD here in Dallas checked the price on the Etrex and it rang-up as $119.99 - exactly as per the ticket price on display.

I guess you just gotta be in the right place at the right time ;)

Could someone post a scan for the eTrex at $76? My OD would match it if I could show them one.
