I have had a vegetable garden in the back for a couple of years now.. I was just out turning the soil today and I want to know how I can make the soil more airy.. It's very claylike.. should I add peat? We baught a lot of peat and cow manure today for it.. should I add both? Thanks.

The peat will help loosen the soil.

The cow manure will help add the nutrients the plants need to grow.


Add both. Mix them into the top 6 or 7 inches of soil.
