Yes, let the hate flow through you. Embrace the Douche side!

Hey, I don't hate people unless they give me a reason to.

Take the neighbors lawn service for example. One time they picked up dog shit from near the lot boundary that was in my own yard, and threw it on my driveway. They didn't realize it, but they needed to use about 2 feet of my yard (that they thought was my neighbors, which is where the dog shit was located) to squeeze their big ass mower into my neighbors back yard. The next week they found a couple 100+lb rocks sitting in their path.

Garbage collectors are poorly paid, have to work outside in all kind of nasty weather, yet you expect professional service. Ya want professional service, be prepared to pay a bunch extra for it, Mr lazy can't rip apart a pizza box. Can't stay inside of two trash cans, go and buy bigger cans.

My trash guys take everything. No ridiculous limits on how many items, etc.

All I'm saying is that if I pay $40/month for 2 cans/week garbage collection, and I only put out my trash once a month, I should only have to pay $10/month if they aren't willing to take even the smallest extra item in that one week I put my trash out.

If they aren't willing to do that, then I guess I'll start putting my cans out every week regardless of how much is in them just so they have to stop and I get my moneys worth.

How do you live in your own filth & trash for 3 weeks?

I don't generate much trash. Most everything I buy food-wise is from farmers markets, etc... without much packaging. I compost un-processed food waste, and anything cooked gets put in the garbage disposal. It takes about 3 weeks to fill up our 2 cans, and everything that is in them is just packaging materials like cardboard, plastic, etc...

Sounds like you're the filthy one generating garbage at an astounding pace.

I think you're just a slob.

One time, a pizza box took my buddy out while he and I were watching over the rest of the platoon when we were out on partol in the bush. As Sam tried to put pressure on his bleeding juggular, I cut that pizza box, I cut that mother fucker up real good and right. Watching him bleeeeeeeeed. And die. Sam didn't make it either.

Fucking pizza boxes.

Just this week I had two cans, and I put a pizza box that wouldn't fit in my can on top of one of the cans. You emptied my cans, then shoved the pizza box into the can and left it at my house.

Any chance the pizza box fell on the ground behind the cans pre-pick-up and were placed in the can by a passing neighbor post-pick-up?

my garbage men are strange from week to week. One week i had flattened out a bunch of boxes and placed them vertically in another box for trash day and they left the box and a nastygram saying they needed to bound with string instead of in a box. Yet the very next week they took a 200lb treadmill with black mold on it no questions asked.

Are you sure the treadmill was taken by the trash collector and not by a dumpster diver-type individual?

I just keep praying for a new garbage man. The old crew would take anything. Not sure who this new guy thinks he is. It started about 6 months ago.

Count your blessings.

We have guys in trucks with mechanical arms. They never leave the truck. Ever. We have to call to get a special pick up anything that does not fit in the City-issued trash, recycling and cuttings bins.

Tip for you guys. If you have trash that exceeds the stated limits, give the sanitation department a call and they can either pick it up during regular pickup or arrange for a special collection.

As for the OP, you're a dick and the garbage men were just letting you know.

Please don't speak about something you know nothing about. Drivers can make six digits, with the majority paid over $60K. Many collectors at private companies make $50K+ and have union benefits (sometimes better, sometimes worse than company benefits). Yes, the go in very early (around 4am), but if they get their route done without any hitches, they're usually off by 2pm.

Solid rant.

I have had both trash pick up that would take anything, to strict pick up like yours. Current house they take anything. Kinda feel guilty when it's leaf season or spring yard clean up. :/
