aside from the obvious fact that it's much newer software. I'm contemplating upgrading my Tiger install to Snow Leopard but w/ the $30 version. I'm wondering if it's worth spending the $ to upgrade w/ the box set to get the new Garageband. All I use my laptop for is GB and Logic btw.
 
Well.. my suggestion would be this.. From what I've briefly seen, there are potential incompatibilities with Snow Leopard and some of the iLife '06 apps. Not too much documentation on it, from what I've seen.

1. Buy the retail Snow Leopard upgrade.
2. Buy a copy of iLife '09 on eBay

Most copies are going for $50 + free shipping. You're at half price of the Box Set and you're all up to date.

I don't know of an in particular feature that would warrant an upgrade from '06, but I do like '09. I'm not a huge user though, so I can't name anything specifically.
 
Why because we aren't willing to waste hours installing an app to test for you? Geesh.. whatever..
