ah, Wieder is correct.

also quick question: can i spray paint the weights? the set is mixed with gold and black, and some of the plates are rusty.

are there any paints i should avoid, that might make the plates slippery?

I've had weights fall off more than once while doing a tricep exercise with a dumbbell. If there's some sort of interlock, go for it, that's a good price.

the locks are a combination of a spinning lock and two parts that clamp around the bar. the clamps have two screws that tighten the grip.

i can't explain it well :)

I had weights in a basement that got wet and I applied a special paint to it to keep them from rusting. Go to a hardware store and ask I'm sure they will know exactly what the paint it is to use.

Cheap way would be to scrape off rust with a motorized wire brush and throw on some rusty metal primer and some flat black enamel, urethane, or epoxy paint.

More expensive but less work would be to use some POR-15 rather than removing the rust.

EDIT: better link now
