If you think one garage sale is bad, you should have seen the neighborhood garage sale they used to organize in the neighborhood I used to live in. Every third or fourth house would have a garage sale all on the same day. They put signs up weeks in advance and had so many people show up for this thing (they did it once a year). Cars were parked bumper-to-bumper on every street in the neighborhood (about 300 houses).

During the summer (I teach... on vacation during the summer), I kill time on Friday mornings by going to garage sales.... it takes about 2-3 hours of my time. Average profits for those hours are between $100 to $200 by reselling things on ebay, etc. I can't believe people are so lazy that they won't bother checking the value of the things they're selling... There are a lot of items sold for a quarter that are worth $10 or more on ebay.

I hate the blue-hairs that come to a complete stop on the road when they see a yard sale. Especially when it's a four-lane, divided roadway!
