Looking for some help on the easiest way to build this thing..

I've got an old TV I'm not using that I'd like to throw up in my garage. I want to hook it up to a webcam or an old GoPro and have the TV on an 8 second delay so I can check my form after clean and jerks/snatches/etc. I don't need to be able to record or save any of the data, just a closed loop. I've hunted around for ideas but most seem to be focused on security applications with multiple cameras, web hosting, mass storage, and a bunch of other stuff I don't need. Anyone have any ideas?

Also.. if this thread is in the wrong forum, please advise! Thanks

Then I'm back behind said camera after every lift screwing with buttons and tiny screen, with chalky and sometimes bloody hands. Not ideal.

I've seen a gym with this setup before.. just have no idea how they wired it up. All I saw was a camera and a TV, with the screen on a delay. This is nice because all I had to do was turn around, review my movement, and get right back to work. If I could do this without having to hook it up to a PC and running software, that'd be best.

What you could use is a DVR. Camera is your input signal. Pause the live feed for a few minutes then hit play. Someone else can hopefully name a device that will work for you.

I’m not sure if that will work. It’s better to be practical and use a regular cctv monitoring system for your entire home (it will include the garage)

How about a raspberry pie and a webcam. Load linux on the pie and there should be a multitude of webcam applications. I'm sure one can implement the delay you need. It even has RCA video out if its an old sd tv.

Edit: old thread huh
