garage door remote question

I recently bought a townhouse and the garage door installed is quite old with only 1 remote.
with winter started, it's becoming quite a pain to share this one remote between my wife's and my car.
the door opener looks like an old sears/craftsman brand.
I did manage to locate some remotes on ebay and got excited that I could finally get two remotes in the house.
after looking at some of the remotes, I'm wondering how do I program the new ebay remote to work with my existing door opener.
I will attach a link for some of the ebay auctions.
I opened my exisitng remote and saw that the internals has 9 dip switches and a 9v battery.
so, I should be able to buy a similar remote, open the remote, re-program the dip switches similar to my remote and voila!
would it work?
or am I over looking something?

here are the links
Auction #1
The FCC ID does NOT match with my remote's FCC ID, but I can swear they look identical.

Auction #2
same story with the FCC ID.

any help would be greatly appreciated...

i think you just need to set the dip swithes the same.
why don't you try sears if its a craftsman opener
or even your local hardware store. they may have a univeral model.
