Was out of town this weekend and my mother in law who lives with us tried going out the garage door and it wouldn't open. She pressed the button on the wall and it just clicked rapidly. She said it wouldn't stop she so she got the ladder out and unplugged it. I came home and briefly checked on it and after plugging it in and attempting to open it, it did the same thing. Rapid succession of clicks, didn't stop, so I unplugged it. I was too tired to mess with it, but, I did look at the sensors up front and didn't notice anything obstructing them. Any thoughts/ideas? If I remember right, it's a craftsman unit. Unsure of model at this time.

Try disengaging the door from the opener and see if the door moves okay manually.

I'll give it a shot tonight when I get home. I won't be spending too much time on it until this weekend unfortunately, it's 100 outside so the garage will be really hot.

It does sound like the logic board went out based on that link you provided. I forgot to mention that late last week, we had a lot of thunder and the power went out for a split second. I never tried to open the garage the next morning and we went out of town Friday. A power surge probably took it out. And I can't remember if we bought the unit when we first moved in or if it was the original that came with the house when we bought it.

I have a whole house surge suppressor on the breaker panel but I still have the GDO plugged into a single outlet suppressor.

We get tons of power failures here where the power goes off and on and off and on two, three or four times. Although I have to say that they have been doing a ton of tree trimming around here and the frequency of these occurrences has exponentially decreased.
