GAR!!! CHECKSUM ERRORS!

recently I got my rig together and I booted up using pc2700 ram in slot 2 (orange) and no hard drive

my mobo is DFI NF4 ULTRA-D
ATHLON 64 3000+

Everytime I boot it shows a checksum error and it says loads to defaults then when i press f1 to continue it says backup cmos

So I am always loading from a backup cmos.

When i try to change something in the bios or go in there at all and restart my computer does not post and gives me a long beep then a pause and again and again..

Do I have a corrupt cmos?

I have to clear cmos to post after the beeping then It always posts with a checksum error and the whole process again.

The little battery on the motherboard might need replacing. Try that, or if possible, update your BIOS to the latest version
