Yeah, but so what? It's what OP already believes. It's also why the holds are involuntary.

"So what?" indeed. 🙄 I don't think you need to have my personal experience with a family member who had this problem to imagine how it might affect other people.

I edited it into my post above in case you missed my personal experience.

I'm saying, in the short term, "so what if it validates his paranoia" so long as he receives help and gets better in the long term. Every little thing is going to reinforce his fear, and a crazy person would continue to refuse help regardless. I also have experience having to have a family member involuntarily held and subsequently committed to treatment because they were on a self-destructive path, but was too far gone to see it.

I'm agreeing that OP likely needs help, whether he wants it or not.

Either the OP is a very successful and consistent long-play troll, or he has mental health concerns serious enough to warrant impressive medications. Even then, most dillusions never go away, with therapy and medication they can be far less frequent and ignored. Before treatment, you get absorbed into the fantasy. We all want to be somebody, and there is apparently no one more important than one who is the subject of surveillance and harassment at every turn. :\

OP, have you seen A Beautiful Mind? Watch it and view it as a careful lesson to be learned. Seeking help is not a bad thing, even if you don't think you can be convinced otherwise, give it a chance. Too many see psychiatry as quack medicine or more trouble than it is worth, but it can be very successful and with time can help those who need help.

Ah. Got it, but I still think that appealing to what little rational ability he has left should be the first thing we try (convince him that it's crazy).

Leave it up to Vdub to say the 2nd most idiotic and crazy shit in a thread, besides the obvious mentally ill person. lols

I seriously believe this is one of those cases, like the boy in San Diego last year who thought "people had it out for him".... The affluent one who ended up shooting some people, then himself. The warning signs were there via videos he had made, etc. Yet nobody did anything... Then he killed people.

When people fvck around like this on the internet, and we as a community believe they could be a danger to themselves and others, it's our job to get them out of the public and into a facility where they can get help.

How shitty will all of us feel if somehow we found out OP killed himself over this? Or worse.

Admins should seriously consider alerting some authorities if possible. Just my opinion though.

Absolutely, that would be ideal, and I'd expect consented treatment would be attempted first. But if unsuccessful, action has to be taken before a person can implement their danger. That the OP has expressed threats to himself and others (generically) in the past makes his need for help seem more urgent.

Agreed.

this thread / OP reminds me of a nearly identical one i read about 2 years ago.

I think I know what you're talking about. I don't quite get the paranoia thing, but hey...I guess it makes sense that people post stuff online when they're scared to go outdoors. I just always make the assumption that everyone has something better to do than worry about me. 😀

OP has made many over the years, but you're probably thinking of iwearnosox (which has already been linked in this thread). Tragically, iwearnosox suffered the same mental condition.

Anywhooooo.... HR for workplace harassment then?

Fine, but you're creating problems for people who aren't really doing what you incorrectly believe they're doing. If they're chastised by HR, your coworkers might resent you for causing problems for them. Then you'll be even more convinced that everyone is working against you. It's a self-fulfilling suspicion.

The only *real* help you can get is psychiatric help and medications.

By all means, though. *REAL* workplace harassment should be reported to HR.

You're always in my threads talkin down Ich i'm not hearin you. None of this is make believe ... you know it, I know it, they know it, we all know it.

How is asking you to get help and telling others to be more sensitive to your condition "talking down" to you?

I'm not "talking down." I'm concerned for your well being.

Every time I see a normal-sounding thread from you, I wonder to myself: "How can this be the same guy?" ...but then I see another thread like this one. I sincerely hope you get help. Real help.

The answer would be, terrible troll/online persona upkeep.

But like you said, guy needs help regardless.

I have been on these forums for well over 17 years and I swear that some of you have never reached maturation. Ichinisan is among the few voices of reason.

I hope you truly get the help you deserve BD231. Good luck.

Yeah. iwearnosox's thread lasted a lot longer and no one could get through to him.

That is the great thing about his delusion. If you have a mental condition in which you think people are out to get you and lying about it, anybody who tells you it isn't real is simply part of the problem.

Hopefully somebody with his IP address is seriously considering contacting a local authority so that he can be committed and evaluated.
