i did a search and didn't find "gangs" in any of the recent titles.

i expected more than it turned out to be.

I think the antagonism by anti-decaprio zealots was responsible for most of that negative sentimentality.


I heard it was indeed a great film

i thought it sucked.

the previews make it look like its a movie with alot of gang fights, when in reality there were hardly any ...

not to mention, the ending was horrible IMO.

i also liked how the butcher could go around killing anyone and no one else would care, like when he killed that fat guy (forget the exact character, saw it a long time ago) by throwing an axe or somethin at him, and people just went on with their business like notihng happened ...

boring movie. Guy kills dad, kid grows up to kill guy but only does so through stroke of luck.

longer then it needed to be with crap thrown in like the usual big-budget films.

Talked to my roomate who is a Political science major about the movie a while back ... From his view he said he enjoyed the ending since it symbolized them dying together, instead of which gang is better.

*shrug* I wouldn't personally know.

oh, i think you forgot a small part of the plot. you know, where the kid is taken under the wing of the bad guy and seeks his approval, ultimately leading to the saving of the bad guy's life by the kid, all the while creating an inner tension between his true motive to avenge his father and the person he has become under the wing of the bad guy.

Overall I thought it was a well done movie, and quite enjoyable, although the romance between DiCaprio and Diaz was very awkward and seemed as if it didn't fit in properly.
