Ahh yes. Zelda.

Probably my favorite game series of all time. I've still yet to be disappointed!

zelda: a link to the past is the best IMO

Yes, the Super Nintendo game was the best also, IMO. Thinking back to the first NES game, I'm trying to remember what it was like trying to burn EVERY bush in order to find one that hid a labrynth. It must've been so tedious.

btw.... any of u guys get to finish the second quest of the very first zelda game?? (on the nes)

if u beat the game, u'll get a second quest that is MUCH harder.... damn I never get to beat the second quest... coz finding the entrances to the palaces was DAMN HARD (didnt have time to burn all the bushes on screen... LOL)
also remember the whirlwind??? if u get hit by one, U CAN'T USE UR SWORD!!! DAMMMIT..... the cure of this was to get hit by another whirlwind that has a different color.......

hmmm maybe I'll get an emulator and I'll replay the second quest again.... lol

I spent WAY too much time playing Zelda on the SNES. I'm surprised that Gamespot is not making you pay their fee to view this.

When it came time to continue your quest, you simply selected the correct file and continued. No muss, no fuss, no hassle - as long as you held down "reset" while turning "power off."
No fair! I didn't know that!

I purposely died each time I wanted to save. My manual said that I should press "Select" in the second controller to save, which never worked. :|

Hey, I was only 10 back then and my English was limited to alphabet and "Hello". :) I did eventually understand the manual when I learned some English at school though.

Carry on what?

I only spoke Spanish and Korean back then. :)

I haven't a clue where my NES and Zelda are but I do own them (and 2 gold copies, in fact ;)) so I'll download the emulator and the game legally and play it on my computer.

I've only played Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Zelda Majora's Mask. Wish I had a gameboy and could find the older games for SNES and NES.

After reading through that article, I have an urge to go out and buy a GBA and Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. :D
