Gamma on the QNIX QX320QHD Super Ultra 32"?

I just picked this monitor up without much research and have discovered that its really dark. I have brightness way down, but i want to add gamma. My nVidia 780 has a gamma option, but only for movies. I have been all through the menu options on this monitor and there is no way i can find to change gamma. Any ideas? TIA.

Gamma is not used to adjust how dark your monitor looks. What you need to adjust is contrast and black level (= brightness).

However, you should be able to change gamma in NVCP :

Use this site to calibrate the monitor: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/

I suggest first getting the gamma correct in NVCP (page 6 on the above site), then setting brightness and contrast correct with monitor settings (starting from page 2).

There's only one correct gamma setting if you want to calibrate your monitor. Yes, you can use it to adjust how things look but if you're going for accurate colours, you shouldn't do. You should use contrast and brightness to get the darkness/brightness right.

Thanks for the info though. You really helped me out.
