I'm using Windows XP Home Editon and a Gainward GF3 Ti200 GS with the 23.12 WHQL drivers. Whats with the damn gamma on this card? No matter what drivers I use, the gamma is terrible. I have set the gamma to a value of 2.00 using the Color Correction tab in the Display properties in the drivers. Everytime I enter a game. the gamma sets back to 1.00. The gamma in the games is SO dark, it's unplayable.. even if I use a third party program like powerstrip or RivaTuner... it does no good.

Any suggestions?

If you have to put your gamma all the way up to 2.0 it sounds like your monitor is badly configured because using 2.0 gamma on my monitor almost blows the screen up because it's so bright. Set your monitor's contrast to the maximum and turn your brightness up until you get to the point where black colours start to look slightly whitish. Then turn it back down a few notches and you should have pure black.

As for games, most games have gamma sliders to adjust their brightness and for those that don't, use the gamma correction slider in your driver control panel before you launch them.

Thanks for the reply. Now that you mention it, it could definately be the monitor too. I have 3 computers and the monitor I am using for this computer is a cheap POS. It's only a 14inch "Techmedia" monitor. I should definately try hooking this computer up to my 17inch KDS sometime. Maybe it'll be better.

As for the in game settings, I have them set at their max.
