Nick, concerning that other scenario of the 3200+ and 6800GT or 3800+ and ATI 9800 Pro, what do you see as more bang for the buck? I was thinking the 3800+ & 9800 Pro. Any thoughts?

You'll see much better gaming performance with a 6800 GT than with a 9800 Pro, and you can probably get 400 MHz out of that 3200+ easily if you find yourself a little CPU limited (running a RAM divider here would be OK too).

as far as 3200/6800GT Vs. 3800/9800pro, you will see MUCH greater results going with the 3200/6800GT combo. sure, the CPU isnt QUITE as fast, but its only a slightly slower than the 3800. but the 6800GT STOMPS the 9800pro. its like a ford escort vs. a GTO or something. you will see a vast imporvement in FPS and an overall gaming experience by getting the 6800GT with the 3200.
