I have a xp1700 running @ 1860Mhz with a 9700 Pro graphics card (Gigabyte make) on an epox nforce 2 (8rda+) and 256mbs of ram (will be upgraded soon!!) and when im running GTA 3 on it, its jerking some of the time.. i tried running the res at 1600 x 1200 x 32 and no aa or af turned on and its jerky every now and again, also when running at 1024x768x32 with aa on 2x and af on at 8x its jerking all over the place, even more so with 4x aa on.. is my beast of a pc that bad or is the game doing something that it shouldnt be? it has frame snyc on, frame limiter on and trails and they have to be on or else it gets jerky anyway..
please help because the game is good, but the speed isnt when i up the quality!!! any sugguestions? oh and has anyone heard what GTA - Vice City is requiring? i hope its a little less if its like this!! thanks for the help

sounds like your hard drive is swapping. With 256 mbs of RAM, that would be what I'd look at first. What OS?

Yes, more RAM and less proggies (you re a gamer, how CAN you run any background proggies?! Comp for games ONLY :) in the background. This "jerking" occurs, when video card sucks out the data from ram, and HDD is unable to load it faster. If your ram was 512 (the best!), than HDD would load the data ahead of time, before the macho Radeon can suck it up.
