Picked up Richter Amiibo from Wal-Mart for $14.88. They only had it because they accidentally put it out early then retracted stock then forgot to put it back out again. Had to compare poses with the original. 😉

Had to mod a junk Sega Saturn RF box into an AV cable a couple days earlier so I snatched these up when I saw them. The RF switch is new old stock and the AV cable was mislabeled as a Genesis 2 cable (saved a few bucks). Like most 3rd party Saturn AV cables, you have to swap the left and right audio channels because of some incorrect pinout that's been circulating online for a while.

Ordered this back in November and only just received it last week:

Snagged these on Sunday.

I ripped them apart over the following 2 days after picking them up (so I can get them through my basement door) and have cleaned the crap out of the parts in my basement.

My brother is coming over either tonight or tomorrow to help me get the main cabinets into my basement. It's going to be tricky because my door opening is 29" wide but the bottom of the cabinets are 33.5" wide. However the cabinet is only 30" deep at the bottom and after that it's max 26" deep towards the top. My plan though is to turn them on their sides and "hook" the bottom part through the door. I took a ton of measurements and it should be no problem, but the cabinets are still heavy and awkward, although they are MUCH lighter with all that stuff off of them.

Finally got em all setup. If you are over 30, this has to get you a little giddy.

I finally got time to play it tonight for the first time. My son joined me. My wife snuck down and snapped this little video of us. Son has to sit like 1' from the screen so he can reach the pedals lol.

Played more of Rush 2049 than any other sit-down arcade machine. One of my favorites! Just about the only dual sit-down machine I want more is Hydro Thunder, and I hear those generally have issues with the steering without parts available to fix them.

A couple years ago Ichinisan and his business partner got a bunch or machines to fix up including the awesome Virtua Racing dual sit-down cab. You know: the same one Scarlet Sprites has been fixing up on YouTube:

We only got one side working before Ichinisan's business partner cooked the other. D:

I wish, but I'm having to rely on the Galaxy Note S-Pen translation to read this in Tapatalk. 😉 Guess that's why I got this in the mail with Dai Makaimura today:

Just got it in the mail today. It's my first SuperGrafx game so I no longer have to rely on the Turbo Everdrive:

Intro:

Though I'm happy to have it, it was kind of a forced purchase. At 1:59AM on February 3rd I had $53 of eBay Bucks expiring in less than a minute so I had to grab the first thing over that amount in my watch list... a $90 game. D: The system only got about 8 SuperGrafx games but the only other one I was really interested in was 1941 Counter Attack... until I saw the CRAZY money it goes for. No thanks! I could get the actual arcade board for that.

Hydro Thunder was on my list to get as well, however the cabinet wouldn't fit through my doorway so that immediately got it out of the picture unfortunately. There have been a couple sets I've seen come up for sale locally too.

Haha. Just asking if you could read the language, saying I tried Persona 5 three months ago and it was a pain in the *** and that I hope to one day play Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and Ryuu Ga Gotoku (especially Ryuu Ga Gotoku Ishin, a samurai game about the Meiji Restoration that will never get a western release). Language is a mess to learn. Though I do think you need one Japanese word that will come in handy for playing Japanese Ninja Gaiden that wasn't on that printout: 糞=くそ=kuso. It works well after that tenth infuriating death in a row on 6-3.

Wow that is such a cool title logo, especially how they did the world kanji 界 in the title 大魔界村, which kind of translates to large/great + demon + world + village/town. Though 魔 can also be like witch too, but demon probably makes more sense here. I love that 魔 kanji since it's a combination of hemp 麻 and oni demon 鬼 , so I always remember the meaning of 魔 as witch/demon by thinking of the time that evil witch sold me some hemp that was so bad it had me hallucinating oni all around me haha.

Yeah. The literal translation you see most often is "Great Demon World Village" but it was officially released as "Ghouls'n Ghosts" in the western world. It's the sequel to Makaimura AKA "Ghosts'n Goblins." They called it "Super Ghouls'n Ghosts" on the Super NES but they weren't exactly translating "Dai" as "Super" since that would have been "Super Ghosts'n Goblins." 😉

Honestly, I thought I'd end up with the arcade board before the SuperGrafx version.

Since I was set up with the Panasonic R·E·A·L 3DO FZ-1, I figured I'd test my recently acquired Panasonic FZ-JS1 arcade stick today.

Went straight for Road Rash only to get an unpleasant surprise inside:
John Madden Football

DOH!

Well, I didn't know I had this game for 3DO, so I'm going to count it as a new pick-up. 😉

At least the PSX tall-box Road Rash next to it has the right disc inside. I know I've got the Genesis games and the PC version somewhere. Heck, I've got a duplicate PC version officially bundled with Virtual PC for Mac, so does that count as the Mac version?

se GA sat URN.

SE GA!
You posted that right as I was checking out with a part for a Sega Saturn I was refurbishing...

Lost the lid latching spring when I was working on one of the Saturns in this video from a few days ago:

I hadn't even gotten it disassembled to the point where you could even see the spring when it shot out if the system and went who-knows-where. That mistake cost me nearly $6.

If you need a 4mb Saturn cart let me know. I did some cleaning out of a closet like 3 weeks ago and found mine and would let me go at a really fair price.

Guess I missed the flea market/Fry's pick-ups after that Richter Amiibo...

Kind of a pity-purchase. Fry's Electronics in Milton, GA seems to be dying:

Actually, the first one I went to in Duluth, GA had closed days earlier.
bab97af575b0dc5d9029e1be746ff7c3.jpg

It was a wasted trip.

Those Hori Wireless Fighting Commanders were half the price they sell for on eBay. I got extra thinking I'd mod them to work on PC Engine since they look almost identical to a Fighting Commander PC and the originals are $$$! Unfortunately, they never show you the back side and it has a big, bulky, battery compartment and battery door, unlike the original. Guess I figured they were rechargeable with internal batteries much like an original controller modified with an 8BitDo 8BitDIY kit, but I guess not. Would've let them reuse the original molds. *shrug*

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I already had this one but it was $3 and helps me increase my trade diversity:

Much more in-line with what I'm used to spending on these things. 🙂

Welp I have found my 4th and (hopefully) final arcade cabinet. I should be picking it up by next week hopefully.

WjiWDMx.jpg

The left gun isn't working and the right one is cracked, but I'm getting (what I think) a very good deal on it. Worst case with the gun that doesn't work is a chip on the JAMMA board is messed up, and the worst case is that I'd have to buy a whole new board. However people can replace the chip on the board too but I can't as it's an IC chip. Best case is it's just a lose wire or something like a burnt out board.

And the cracked gun isn't a big deal. I may be getting some casings from this one guy for $25 anyways so they will be brand new.

I plan on putting a switcher in there with 5-6 light gun games. The first thing I'm doing though is getting the kit to convert it to an Area 51/Max Force combo board.

I feel like a boss. I just fixed the broken gun on my Maximum Force cabinet.

I opened it up and it was clear what was wrong - the wire wasn't plugged into the PCB inside the gun.

So I plugged it in, and then when I fired I saw the screen flash but it wasn't registering. It was like just blinking like you are shooting off screen, but it wasn't making sounds like gun firing or anything.

So I opened it back up and saw one of the 2 pins connecting the infrared light to the PCB had become desoldered. So I busted out the soldering iron and soldered it. Put it all back together and now the broken gun is working perfectly. I do want to get a new trigger spring though or microswitch, because you have to pull the trigger almost all the way to get it to register. The other gun is a lot more lenient which I like.

So I got a fully working Maximum Force cab that is like an A- as far as cosmetics go, for $300. Can't complain about that.

Well, that $3 Saturn part arrived today with a sketch of Kiki on the envelope...

All that effort for a $3 part?! Wow. eBay ID "import_player"

...but that wasn't the only envelope art I got this week. Akumajou Dracula X Chi no Rondo (Castlevania Dracula X Rondo of Blood) arrived with this friendly message and doodle:

Yes, it's a legit copy and not a replica/counterfeit like you might expect for that price.

Last year I traded up an import adapter for this:

...but I hear it might not work with Professor Abrasive's Satiator even when flashed with PseudoSaturn Kai. There's talk of a custom PseudoSaturn that fixes this but I wouldn't mind having an original either way. How much? 🙂

I really don't have much to go off of other than eBay prices and it looks like ones sold in the US are like $30 - $40 or so for the most part, completed and sold, after shipping.

I'd do like $25 shipped in a padded mailer, like first class.

I also have to say that I haven't tested this thing out in probably 2 decades but I would assume it still works fine. Just want to be up front lol.

I took some pics of some older gaming stuff I found in a closet like 3 weeks ago. Let me know if any of this interests you too.

Got my new gun and shell today and just installed em. The blue guns look so much cleaner than the red/green ones. And I installed 2 new buttons as well in yellow to match the t-mold. The old blue/yellow buttons were grimy.

Got a couple more packages with surprises today...
The first was from an eBay seller I've ordered from before so I wasn't as surprised to see this as I was last time:

[ rez[/URL]
Yes, this seller works for Nintendo and ships from work. 🙂

Last time it was Adventure of Lolo 2 for NES, complete in box. This time I thought I'd grab a couple Turbo-CD games.

"Fighting Street" was the only home console release of the original Street Fighter from back in the day. The name change is bizarre but maybe it was related to Nintendo's temporary exclusivity agreement for Street Fighter II a couple years later.

Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective is an early FMV game that should work as a good torture-test for CD-ROM² drives I refurbish. Last I checked, Super SD System³ couldn't even play this one from SD card though UperGrafx UGX-02 can.

Anyway, my brother and I also received a package from a Japanese seller, though we weren't the ones who ordered it. One of our UltraHDMI Group Buy members bought a console from a Japanese seller and had it shipped to us for us to modify and send on to the owner. We were surprised to find that it contained candy, an origami crane, and a hand-written note from the seller about the crane being folded by his son. This hand-drawn/hand-written thing is starting to become a trend from Japanese sellers!

Anyway, we found the listing and I see the crane was actually shown there:

First time I've ever handled an AsciiPad 64. Always dreamed of getting one since I first saw it on N64.com / IGN64 back in the '90s. Now I absolutely have to get one!

I really don't have much to go off of other than eBay prices and it looks like ones sold in the US are like $30 - $40 or so for the most part, completed and sold, after shipping.

Ooo! Thanks for giving me a crack at it. 🙂 Definitely interested in Night Trap and the TurboPad if the price is right!
