Hey guys,
Im thinking of building a gaming Pc with the following components, and id like youre opinion

Motherboard MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Graphic Card Gtx 770 Sli 2-way
CPU Intel Core i7-3770K @ 3.50GHz
Memoria 2x4GB Corsair
Hard Drives Samsung SSD 250GB, Western Digital 1 TB 7200rpm.
I think this is the best bang for your buck i can possibly go for, based on all sort of benchmarks around the internet,
How big of a power supply will i need? is 600W ok? Im not thinking of OCing the system.
Finaly, how do i decide how to buy a good monitor? Im thinking of going for a 24, cause i think a 27 will be to big and give me headaches xD
Thanks for the repply

1.A good quality 600W will do but personally I will go for a 750W for peace of mind and if you intend to oc later down the road.

2.Get a 27 , you will not regret that one bit 🙂

27" was one of the best gaming decisions I ever made.

I wouldn't ever want to go smaller than that again.

Yep, once you've tasted all 27 inches, you can never go back. ^_^

You can get a 27'' 1080p IPS display for around $200 these days. The Dell I have is quite nice. AOCs are supposedly quite good considering it's a cheap Korean brand. IPS sacrifices a bit of response time for better colour reproduction and viewing angles. Worth it IMO.

The rest of that rig looks solid. Wish I had the money for something like that. Are you going to stick with Windows 7 or go with Windows 8.1?

I have 3 1080p displays in eyefinity. They are just 21 inch monitors because they were dirt cheap (a lot cheaper than a single big monitor.)

You may want to consider a 3 monitor setup. I believe Nvidia's got a similar tech and SLI 770 should be enough to power 3x1080p pixels I'd think.

I would personally not buy a monitor larger than 24" below 2560x1440 resolution. IMO you're sitting so close that it's worth the extra money. It won't make as profound a difference in gaming, but for everything else it's way more usable. 1920x1080 at that size is way too much like 1366x768 on 15" laptop screens. It's simply too low a resolution for a screen that size. 21-23" at 1920x1080 is a good sweet spot both in general use and price.

i own a 27" asus pb278q 2560x1440@85hz, a 27" samsung s27c750p 1920x1080@60hz, and a 24" samsung LT24B350ND/ZA 1920x1080@60hz.

having had the experience, i would stay away from a 27" 1080p, the screen acreage to too large for the resolution produced by 1920@1080. for this reason the 24" samsung i have has a better picture than my 27" samsung.

however, if you're able to step up to a 1440p, then by all means a 27" is the perfect size for the resolution. you will be amazed by the difference 😉

there's an off shore brand 27" 2560x1440 that is very popular, Qnix, the pixel perfect model goes for around $330, which is not bad!

whatever you decide, enjoy yourself!

Z87 is haswell, ergo 1150. not 1155. also, get the G43 gaming, same as G45, cheaper.
770 sli seems like overkill .. given that a single 770 is overkill already on just about anything.

If you're going to got with a 24" 1920x1080 LED/LCD than save some money and grab 2 GTX 760 2GB SLI. The GTX 760 2GB is made for 1080p gaming whereas the GTX 770 is meant for 2600x1440 gaming.

Can you answer these questions, especially budget and location. Generally speaking, SLI anything doesn't fall into the "bang for the buck" category.

Your CPU and motherboard are not compatible with each other. You need to preferably get a z77 chipset for a 3770k.

Also, I wouldn't trust many 600W PSUs with any high end SLI combo, especially if you plan on overclocking. I would get at least 750W PSU.
