Thanks guys for the feedback really glad I joined the site to get this info. Will be buying most of the stuff next week when I get my pay check so I'll keep things posted as we build it. I just have one more question; when Windows 7 first came out I received a free copy of it thanks to the agreement with the laptop I bought. I never installed it into my laptop so could I use this installation disk on my new computer or do I need to buy another copy of home premium?

EDIT:

Also I am on the fence on this video card or the one I already picked. Which one is better for the price?

I would still highly recommend the one I linked to you earlier over the GTX 550 and the HD 6770. The HD 6770 costs $147.55 with shipping and the HD 6850 costs $150 with shipping while performing about 35-80% faster than the HD 6770 depending on the game/benchmark.

Or even better, make the changes that I suggested and get a 6870. 😀

OP, while you can use the copy of Windows 7 that you received (technically), it would be against the EULA to do so.

I'm stuck in New Jersey andonly have access via my smart phone so excuse me if I didn't read the entire thread.

Don't skimp on your input devices. They do make a diference.
A good mechanical keyboard like the steelseries 6g v2 is a good start
A mouse that polls 1000hz
A 120hz computer lcd

And your new rig will be faster.

EDIT:never mind op, those type things bettet suit first person shooters
