You are going to want a quad channel memory kit. To get 32GB of RAM like you have now, you'll need to buy a kit of 4x8GB memory.

Hi,

Thank you very much for your fast reply!

Where should I put them the RAM - 4x8gb (next to each other) or 2x8gb one side and 2x8gb the other side?

Regarding the CPU Cooler - NOCTUA NH-D15 is it compatible with i7 6850K and ASUS X99 Strix motherboard please?

Thank you very much,

Steven

When you get the motherboard, check the manual. It will tell you how you should put the memory sticks in to achieve quad channel operation. Typically on X99, you will have two on each side, with a spacing in between each stick on each side.

Can I make a few general suggestions?

Are you going to overclock? If not, I suggest a 6700K-based build instead of this. The single-thread performance helps.

If you are going to overclock, I suggest a 6800 - edit: or better yet a 5820, not a 6850. If you don't want to SLI, the extra PCIe bandwidth doesn't matter. And if you do want to SLI, you should get Nvidia's new hard SLI bridge, and the extra PCIe bandwidth still doesn't matter.

Why not go with a nice AIO cooler with that budget?

WHEN are you building? The Founders Edition cards are essentially more expensive for lesser cards. If you aren't building for a couple of months, you'll want an aftermarket 1080 instead.

Hi,

No I am not going to overclock it :p I know its useless for now having a 6 core CPU, but I had 3770K and I just want something different instead of the 6700K (4 cores).

Regarding the 6850K not the 6800K because of the clock speeds, the 6850 has more clock speed then the 6800K. and I am not going to SLI as well.

I am going with this CPU to last me a bit longer, what do you think?

Thank you,

Steven

in 2 weeks time I am going to build it. I will find the founders edition in stock right?
