Gaming on a higher resolution

Im trying to play cs:s at a higher resolution that 1024-768. But everytime i change it, it always goes back. Any idea how i can get it to stay.

Im using a 6800 unlocked.

My monitor does 1280x1024? i think.

Please do NOT get mad at the simplicity of my question!

Did you hit Apply when you changed resolution?

Are you running some kind of management program for the monitor including nVidia's offerings that needs it changed there as well?

Did you also change the resolution setting in the game?

I'm not familiar with that game or the later nVidia drivers, so I don't know if these questions are of any use to you.

I did hit apply. I used to run the nvidia display console thing, but it dissapeared. I run at 1280x1024 via the windows settings. and yes , ive change the resolution in the game.

He gave the link, it does support that resolution. Maybe reinstalling the drivers would help.

(o i c) reinstalling the drivers is worth a try but i have heard of people that are stuck with 1280x1024(LCD) even know the monitor supports up to 1600x1200.

(when playing cs s)

go to your cs:s directory and delete the entire thing. when u try to play cs:s through steam, it should automatically reset everything in the game for you. see if you can raise teh res after doing it.
