Gaming Mouse

My brother is moving to Arizona and needs a mouse by the end of next weekend at the latest. Taking into consideration I haven't found any hot deals on gaming mice, what mouse should I buy retail, factoring in value and performance?

The Logitech Mx518 is a nice mouse. You can get it for a reasonable price at your local CompUSA I belive. Good luck.

I have a 518 and it tracks noticably smoother than my old dual optical. Teflon feet help it slide perfectly on a cloth type mouse pad. I personally find the plastic ones too slick with it. The G5 is nice however you gain pretty much only the custom weight cartidge. Go for the G5 or save 10-20 bucks and get a 518.

noone mentioed Razer? IMHO, the Razer mice are AWESOME. I have only used the Copperhead from Razer, but the Diamondback looks to be almost as good. The copperhead is so sensitive, you can use it perfectly from around 3mm off the surface (you actually dont notice any loss of sensitivity 3mm off the mouse pad)

it takes a little getting used to the shape, and may not be perfect for everyone, but I love it, and I would have to say it is the best mouse on the market.

That said, the G5 and MX518 are the next best to me, and not bad mice at all.

hmmm, anyone care to say WHY they dont like the Razers? If its the shape, I understand. Like I said, that shape isnt comfortable for everyone.

anyways, nice choice on the G5, your brother must be happy.

I've owned the mx-518, currently using a G5, and I must say the G5 is noticably more precise for me being that it is laser technology. The MX-518 is no slacker though and it has that extra thumb button, but I hardly ever used it, so the choice was easier for me to make going with G5. The extra weight cartridges is a plus...I found the MX-518 a bit too light. Either one would be a great choice...won't comment on G7 since I never use wireless mice.

I have both the G7 and the G5, and I have to say that the G7 simply isn't as good as the G5.
Much like the MX700 was apparently worse than the MX500 if you have them side-by-side.

nope. it looks uncomfortable as hell, its probably overpriced, and I avoid ALL ph474l17eeeeee products. Though, it also helps that I have never seen it for sale anywhere in the country...
