Looks like the 30 may be a safer bet. See the linked review of the ZR2740w.

EDIT: Scratch that. There's more than one review of the ZR30w that talks about humming.

Maybe the ZR2740w is better for you. Definitely read all the reviews before selecting one.

The 30's only con appears to be its wide gamut, so you'd be running in sRGB emulation mode most/all of the time. Also, if it's anything like my ZR24w, it will be super bright, and you'll need to turn the brightness down to under 10% for everyday use. That said, the extra pixels are worth it to me (assuming I even wanted to drop 1000 dollars on a display).

If you are willing to go 1100, why not get the Dell 30 incher? No complaints on that one.

I'll have to look for the Dell 30 incher. I read about some of the Dell IPS high res panels, but 11 of 34 ratings on Amazon were poor with the complaints being focused on early life failures (e.g. Dead after 2 weeks).

Love my ZR30W, sold my eyefinity ZR24's for it and could not be more pleased. Worth every penny.

Now way must have been a isolated case in amazon's inventory or people got refurbs instead on genuine dell products from an independent seller. The dell 30 in is pretty much the gold standard for a consumer 30 in monitor and has been for years. Buy it through dell not amazon.
