Does anyone know of a good gaming LCD that supports atleast 1600x1200?

The Buyers Guide only have one recommended screen at similar resolution.

Is there any other good gaming LCDs out there?

Viewsonic VP2030B <- Excellent contrast (1000:1) and decent response time (8ms) athough i have read people having issues with DVI on this. More so with Nvidia than ATI but dont quote me on it. (MVA Panel)
Dell 2007FP <- Good contrast (800:1) and brightness (300 cd/m2), great monitor at a great price if you get a IPS panel, im not too sure but i think Dell use MVA & IPS panels and its down to luck wether you draw the latter.
NEC 2070NX <- Low contrast ratio (400:1) but still a great monitor, it has the option to boost contrast to 1600:1 with advanced DVM option. Excellent image quality and response time good enough for games (16ms) (IPS Panel)
NEC 2090UXi <- What i use as my gaming monitor, fairly high response time (16ms) and good contrast ratio (700:1), perfectly useable for FPS, awesome image quality but its very expensive (£580). (IPS Panel)

All these monitors display true 16.7m colours (8bit) and have a native resolution of 1600 x 1200. There are a few other monitors around but these are the best quality ones that i can think of. Hope this helps.

This depends how big you wanna go. The Dell 3007 is pretty incredible I hear and there is a Westinghouse 37" LCD out there for less than $1000 whose native resoution is 1920 x 1080. Just depends on how big you want to go!

Good luck!

my main concern is that it needs to be good for gaming. Which includes: Fast updating, good contrast. and stuff like that. And of course that I can use 1600x1200 resolution

If you want it to be good for gaming then why not look at some Widesreen displays?
Open your mind to the wonderful world of 16:10 and get away from that old 4:3 displays ;)

Dell 2007wfp is a good one. You'll get a S-IPS if your lucky. But it's kinda luck of the draw.

I have the Dell 2407 24 inch LCD. Max PC rated it the best gaming LCD currently on the market. Absolutely awesome for gaming.

I just got my Westinghouse 37" lvm-37w3. OMFG this thing is simply GORGEOUS!

I would HIGHLY recommend taking a look at this monitor. They are getting harder to find, but I know some places still have it.

Also, it's a 1080p LCD with a native (max) resolution of 1920 x 1080 (true 16:9 WS).

Those big LCDs are not typically rated very highly for gaming. I guess the OP should state approximately what size he is looking for.

Just got a BenQ FP241W 24 inch wide screen & so far its been great... near zero ghosting in games, very close to true black in video & no noticible input lag.

Having just moved cross-country, I brought my Samsung 204b with me while leaving my HP L2335 in the moving crates(get it this saturday). Up til the move, I have been using the HP L2335 - 23" 1900x1200 for gaming and very happy with it. Well, I've been using the Samsung 204b the last week and must say I think it's better than the L2335. Now, I don't know as much as some others here in regard to panels/response times/etc but I know my L2335 has a better panel for viewing angles but the 204b has faster response times. But for the money, I got my 204b for $280 AR from Newegg and I think it's great bang for your buck.

I think a question that may help narrow your choices - what's your budget?

No.

I have the 204B, & the only good thing about it is its color vibrance, except ironically enough, it's technically not even a good thing, since it's more of an exaggerated vibrance.

I would recommend against TN panels unless one is on an extremely tight budget...

I'll second the (Samsung) 204B:

* 1,600x1,200 Native/Maximum resolution
* 5ms Response Time (reviews that I have read suggest this is accurate including rising and falling)
* Great aesthetic design
* Rotatable panel for viewing photos and documents
* Sexy, thin bezel with unobtrusive, easy-to-use controls
* High Contrast Ratio (800:1)
* Samsung 3-Year (U.S.) Warranty
* MagicTune software makes it a snap to select various modes for Internet browsing, Movies, Gaming, or Custom settings
* MagicBrite software makes it a snap to adjust monitor settings, although the default will work great for most users
* Price is competitive to other 20" LCDs' out there

This is my third Samsung LCD, and ("knock-on-wood") I've never had a single dead or stuck pixel in any of them. My previous Samsung LCDs' were the 172T (great picture but too slow for fast FPS games at 23ms) and a 172X (12ms, so fair for fast FPS games but by no means outstanding). Awesome picture though. My daughter has inheritted the 172X. 172T is in storage as a back-up unit.

BF2 and DOOM 3 look and play awesome at 1,600x1,200 with everything cranked-up.

My budget is OK ($28.55/hour) and my only debt is $23.95/mo for cable internet.

I have a Dell 17" CRT 1600x1200 so I think anything would make the difference.

I would like the best "bang for the buck" and if the 24" isn't worth the penny's I wont buy it.

The thing is i dont know NOTHING about monitors.

Thanks for the feedback.
