I'll be building this machine for gaming. I'm looking to spend 1000 or less, and I'll be buying from the U.S. I'm not really a fanboy of any brand, but I do prefer ASUS mobos. I'd prefer to use an Intel processor, as all my previous builds have been AMD and I feel like doing something different this time.

I don't need a monitor, I have a 17" samsung LCD that does just fine, and i actually can't fit anything bigger on my desk anyway, so I'll be at 1280x1024 resolution. I'll probably do a moderate overclock. It'll be getting built sometime this month.

So given all that, is it possible to build?

Case:
Processor:
Ram:
mobo:
PSU:
GPU:
HD:
DVD:

edit: Meant gaming desktop in thread title, not laptop.

Your title indicates that you want a laptop, but the body of your post suggests a desktop. Which is it?

whoops! meant desktop. I'm also looking at laptops for other purposes, must've had laptops on the brain when I made this thread.

I'm looking around now and the AMD Phenom 965 actually looks pretty sexy....
