thanx for the site.

but it's just based around the price.
No benchmarks or to compare value.

The best we can do considering prices in India is to build something from the website you intend to purchase your parts from, so if you could link us a site it would help immensely.

the prices are higher by 10 to 15% as compared to the local dealer. But none the less, this is what i came up with....

Kindly suggest any amends or better versions of these products.

Looks pretty good besides that buying a 2gb version of video card isn't worth the performance loss you woul be better of with a R9 380 4gb for that price range. And some newer games are using more then 8gigs so going with 16gb kit gives you some insurance and future proofing.

thanx for the input....

but r9 is costly by about 4000 rs. Instead what if i buy 4 gb 960??

And about ram...if i buy another stick of 8 gb after 6 months or so, would that hamper the performance?

That will work too the 380 is more powerful then the 960 and is about the same price in America but if the 4gb 960 is signifitcantly cheaper then get it. And yeah starting with a 1x8gb stick then upgrading later is fine.

The Core i5 4460 is 14k and will work fine. You will lose the ability to overclock, but you didn't plan to overclock anyway. You may even want to consider the Core i3 4160 for 8.9k. The i5 is 4c/4t and the i3 is 2c/4t, but the i3 has a higher clockspeed. They will perform similarly in most games.

I'd go with the i5, certain games are requiring more than 2 cores and while hyperthreading helps, it's no substitution for real cores

While I agree, the i3 still is clocked higher, so it's pretty much a wash (example: 3.65GHz i3 vs 3.3GHz i5).

That said, I think if he went i3 and H170, he could go Skylake, DDR4, and 4GB GTX960:

I modified sahil2590's list from earlier:

Any chance you could delay your build? New GPUs by AMD and Nvidia are coming out in the next two months. You might be able to pick up a used 970 or AMD equivalent for cheap. I don't know how mature the used PC parts market in India is.
