Gamestop is sad

Gamestop is ok for games that have been out for a bit. I was able to get FarCry2 for 14.99 when it was still going for near original MSRP at BB and d2d. Not so bad but it is definitely disappointing to walk in and next to nothing is for the PC and what is are left overs from 2-6 years ago. I didn't think I would see expansion packs for the First F.E.A.R. around still.

Gamestop is following the law for M rated games. Good for them for doing that. Also Gamestop doesn't make anyone trade in games for that price. It's business and while I don't like it either, it's what makes them the most money.

The ESRB is not the law, it's only a set of guidelines. I just found it odd they carded me when the state owned liquor store doesn't.

Them asking to see a license is the best thing they do. As much as I dislike my local Gamestop, when I hear them ask a kid (obviously underage, like 9 or 10, I've seen this happen) to bring in mommy or daddy so they can ask them if it's okay to buy a game for a much older child (GTA San Andreas), I feel a little confidence (the emperor's blessing) return.

If carding means the difference between keeping a job or getting fired, I say let them keep carding. People need to smarten up anyway.

Gamestop does not care about PC games. They apparently do not sell enough to drive any sales numbers. They usually have one little "island" in the ones that I see. And the games are like $39 or $49 for games that have been out for like a year or two, lol. And as everyone knows, they did away with selling used games about 4 years ago.

The thing that gets me is that they offer you like $5 for trade in for a game (say 360), and then turn around and put it back on the shelves for $19.99-$29.99. I literally see that happen. And then I watch these 14 yr olds trade in 4 games for a $15 credit toward MW2 or whatever they are paying $59 for..... No wonder this place makes money. It's a business though, and people are paying, so whatever.

I went to trade in FIght Night 4 a few months back, EB was going to give me $10 or less for it. Best Buy was willing to give $35. I don't shop there anymore. I have a Rewards Zone card, so may as well go to BB. At least I don't have to ask the staff for every freaking purchase I want to make.

Snagged D2 Battle chest from there a few weeks ago. Aion as well. Haven't opened Aion yet.

I usually pre-order from them. What can I say, I like the benefits...especially the ones coming with the GOW3 pre-order.

I've pre-ordered off their website from them before cus of the extras they get but not from the store since they never carry PC games.
