How does Gamespot's digital download service compare to Steam? I am thinking of buying Deus Ex from them for the extra mission/content etc, but have no first hand experience.
Thanks.

Direct2Drive worked OK for me for some $5 game downloads, but at least for them it was just DRM, without the automatic updates / patching that you get with Steam, and without a central library.

whoa I didn't even know gamespot had a digital download service. You should look into buying it from green man gaming. It's $34 for the regular and $40 for the augmented edition (after voucher code). The game uses steamworks so you'll have to activate on steam. You won't get the tf2 items though.

D'oh! it was Gamefly that bought D2D, while GameStop bought Stardock's Impulse.

I don't have any Impulse games, someone else will need to comment on them.

Steam is an awesome platform and I want them to get better. This is why I buy throuh steam unless there is a huge diff in price.
