I was getting a new HDD array. I want one volume for my os(Cheap 8GB Drive) one for docs and one for games. Should i have more capacity for docs or games (80gb vs. aprox 200-300gb) or should I just ditch all this and go with OS, Docs+Games.

I wouldn't put my OS on an 8gb drive, it would be very slow. Since hds are cheapest in the 250-300 gb range (as low as $.25 per gig), I would get on that size.

EDIT: If you really wanted seprate hds for different things, you could just make three partitions on the hd, although it would seem to be a waste.

I agree with previous poster that 8GB is way too small for your OS. It may exceed the minimum required size for XP. However, you will find that the data on your OS partition grows at an alarming rate. Every time you install a program, it puts most of the files on the OS partition, not the drive on which you install your programs! And you need at least 20% free space for performance and the ability to defrag.
