Games that couples can play over a LAN?

My girlfriend and I have played Anno. 1602 and Baldur's Gate over our LAN and it's been quite fun. To describe myself I'd say that Gaming is my entertainment, I do it a lot. What other games are good for couples? I want a list of zero sum games, i.e. Simcity. Straight competition games usually end in arguments. We've tried REAL Myst but we both have to sit at the same computer and only one of us can control it at a time, not quite as much fun.

Right now we're waiting for Anno. 1503, the next game from Sunflower. Does anyone have other suggestions for a mid twenties couple?

Oh, and no monthly subscription games.
 
Good call on the Heroes of Might & Magic and Diablo, I'll check that out. The players are on the same team right?

We have Age of Empires II and it's to much fighting for her. She likes role playing and economic building type games. AoEII is just building an amy and fighting with it. She prefers to crush her opponents via economic starvation, and she calls me ruthless...
 
The main problem with the RTS is that it's military verse military. The games need to be more like Simcity, 1602, etc. It needs to be a zero sum game...

if you guys can stand FPS, then i say go with serious sam 2. it's cheap, and hella fun. i don't think it's zero sum, but why zero sum anyway? when you win, your girlfriend loses, and then you actually lose ;p the coop mode is fun. you run through levels blasting monsters away. if you die, you come right back. and sam is funny.
 
well, Heroes III and Diablo has co-operative mode 🙂 except you want to kill your wife character heheheh...
or if you want heavier games, try Icewind Dale or Baldur's Gate ^____^
 
here is another vote for Diablo II and Hero's of might and magic. Also good would be the Baldur gate games, Icewind dale. My wife and i usually plant Diablo II over the lan.

It does have multiplayer.
 
Here is another vote for Heroes3 since it has RPG elements, easy to learn and can be paused and restarted later. You can also move on to Baldur's Gate 2 with expansion. There are also 1000s of maps and you can play co-op vs. the PC.
