Games Studdering on my computer?

Jules

Lifer
every few secs it will studder for some reason and im not sure what it is, Could it be my PSU?

Specs

Intel Core 2 Duo e6300 @ 3.36ghz 1.475 vcore
2GB Corsair XMS PC800mhz DDR2
Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3
Sapphire X1900XT
Segate 300.0 GB SATA 3.0
NEC 3550A
XFI XtremeMusic
3 120MM Fans

on a ENERMAX LIBERTY 400W.

I would get a new PSU for that system. But most probably, a PSU doesn't cause stuttering, anyway change it before it dies and takes the all components with it.

I too have the stuttering problem. Which games are you talking about? Are these problems from day 1? Please give more details.

I had a similar issue with the GX2.
I can point 2 things that might be problem:

1) Do you have EIST enabled? turn it off
Turn off all thermal crap (C1E, etc)
2) Change on MIT screen ROBUST GRAPHICS BOOSTER FROM AUTO TO FAST

Try that and let us know.

try running it at stock

I would watch temps to see if you're throttling and voltages (though I agree prolly not the cause). Look in event viewer to see if you're registering any problems, and you might try to disable the NIC as a quick check to see if it's causing probs.

EDIT: HA, 3 responses at about the same time.

Which games? All?

Do you have the latest drivers and patches for the game?

Are you *sure* nothing is running in the background (spyware, etc) that could be affecting it?

Didn't you previously have SLI or am I thinking of someone else? I had SLI GTs and moved to an XTX. When I did, evidently drivercleaner isn't perfect and there was nothing I could do to erase all remnants of nV's junk, so I did a repair install of XP. It made a HUGE difference in gameplay. HUGE. I can't stress that enough.

when i had that problem...it was my mouse dying

try switching your mouse maybe if the suggestions above don't work?

😕 Oh, I'm sorry to have tried offering you some help.

I didn't say you had a GX2. You posted a problem, I tried to offer ideas on how to fix.

My suggestions were related to the mobo BIOS, not the GX2.

Good luck

EIST is the Cool and Quiet from Intel

MIT is the advanced bios settings for the Gigabyte mobos, where you can adjust overclocking settings, memory timing, etc.
