Games randomly freeze

I've been having this problem with a new build of mine. Randomly while gaming the game will freeze, I cannot do anything in task manager while this occurs so the only way out is to ALT+CRTL+DEL and then hit "sign out" on Windows 8.

This only happens in certain games. For instance World of Tanks and CS:GO will freeze randomly during a session but I can play The Witcher 3, DOTA 2 and League of Legends for hours with no issue. I am not sure how to troubleshoot the issue or where to start, any help would be appreciated.

A bad sector on the SSD might cause that.

Maybe. If it never crashes (Windows), but always does this in certain games, I would be inclined to think it could be a driver issue. I wonder if the even viewer has any events for driver events during these time periods.

Lowering the settings in both games from "Maximum" to "high" solved the issue. The card was not overheating in either instance nor was the processor so I am kind of confused as to why this alleviated the problem. Regardless the issue still stands and needs resolving.
