Games for my crappy Dell

As of right now I have a crappy Dell Dimension 2300. It has onboard video, 256mb PC133 RAM and a Pentuim 4 @ 1.7GHz. Most new games will not run on this machine very well and many not even at all. I am saving up for a new rig which I should build around April but in the meantime I still want to play some games. Can any of you reccomend some god games I could play. And don;t reccomend soem really old crappy game like pong or something, but only reccomend games that are fun while will still run well or at least be playablaee to where it is not really laggy on my system.

Why don't you go DL a bunch of demo's and see what runs and doesnt run. Its a pretty old system, so dont expect much.

Half Life 1 and Day of Defeat
Starcraft
civilization 2
warcraft 2
x:com UFO defense
LHX Attack Chopper
Dune 2
Command and Conquer Tiberian Dawn
Command and Conquer Red Alert

Mechwarrior3! 😀 For its time, that was a very decent environmental simulation and in some ways the 'mech simulation felt better and more detailed than MW4. Plus nowhere in MW4 can you blow up seagulls and watch them explode into a cloud of feathers

Power curve optimal, all systems nominal...

I had a similar system for a while. Enemy Territory ran 'ok'. . .

Civilization 3 should be no problem - no need to go back to 2 (unless you wanna).

Worms Armageddon is awesome.

Alpha Centauri

Age of Empires II and expansion

Age of Mythologies

Rise of Nations

Emulators will run just fine on that system. Get an emulator and some NES/SNES games and have a blast! 🙂

There is also a free software thread stickied in this forum you can try out. If the game sucks... delete it and be happy you didn't pay for it! 😉

Why does everyone think you've got to have a top of the line system to game? I was quite content with a Pentium 3 1.1 ghz system for ages. Sheesh.

red alert 2, yuri's revenge expansion pack.
baldurs gate 1 and 1

its late at night so thats all i can think off top of my head i'll try to edit late on
