Left 4 Dead. I don't know why but I swear this game has like more women in it than any other game (at least for FPSs). Otherwise, try something RPG-lite to start like Fable or something.
 
My better half likes L4D/L4D2, TF2, peggle, plants vs. zombies.
We're lucky to have gaming women! I love mine.

No, Im just worried that if she plays stuff like farmville, she's gonna be stuck playing that (Like my sister).

I hear a lot of Plants vs Zombies and Left 4 dead.
I'll most try the recommendations.

I know, I'm asking for games I should get for a total n00b.

The 1st game I ever played was Quake 2. It was hard as shit at the time, if I didn't like the gore so much I would have been put off. I don't want that to happen to her.
 
+1 for Dragon Age: Origins... my GF is addicted to that game... it's the only game that's been able to get her to stop playing WoW.

except... now i gotta find a way to get all the DLCs 🙁
 
I'm a "girl" and like FSP's with role playing elements and a decent story line. Started with Myst, NOLF series, System shock, Deus Ex. Also play games like Halo, Far Cry et al. Liked "Longest Journey" series and "Siberia" series (though these are not FSPs).

My wife likes some strategy games. I never really could get her into FPS games...which might be a good thing. We're both awful at strategy games.

I played stepmania with her for awhile, she'd always get mad if I beat her which was sort of funny.

Lol My wife plays this and about 5 variants of it. She's gone through Farmville and Harvest Moon phases but always comes back to a good online version of Settlers of Catan.

I think Half life 2 is a good starter game, it's not too hard.
Get her a Need for Speed type racer, cheap.


Whatever you do ,do not get her a MMO/role playing game , you will never get any bedroom action. 🙂
