games are the last form of entertainment

It's basically a celebration of the battle between duality. It also signifies that the participants have disposable time so instead of having excess idle time, we game. It really encompasses all artistic expressions which are sound, visuals, automony, and a central reward system.

So, do you agree that games are the last form of entertainment ?

No.
You have no idea what the future brings.
In fact nobody in the 1950's aside from a psychotic maniac could have possibly predicted all the wild shit we have today.
I find it unlikely you can predict what we'll have in the coming years. At best you can make some very non-specific guesses.

No. I consider Hooters, music, jack and cokes and good food the last form of entertainment. 😀 I mean god, there's nothing like seeing a nice looking blonde pop out of her top.

Gaming is nice and to me it's an escape from reality. I used to play Grand Theft Auto just to release my frustrations. I mean where else can you beat the ever lived &^$@ out of someone and get away with it? GTA was the answer! HAHAHA

The last form? No. I highly doubt that. We are at the very infancy of VR. Who knows what sort of entertainment will come out of that. And don't forget that what is considered entertainment is very subject to social standards. I do carpentry for entertainment because it give me a since of accomplishment that my data driven job does not. Perhaps some day we will see something like collaborative mathematics in a VR forum as a form of entertainment.

OP, are you really serious, or am I misunderstanding what you are saying? I do enjoy gaming, although not to the extent that I used to. But there are myriad forms of entertainment other than gaming. To name a few, there are music, theater, movies, television, sports, literature, painting, and a host of other things. In fact, a significant portion of the population, doesn't game at all, and they are hardly devoid of entertainment.

How much of this disposable time do you have?

"Last" as in "final"? Games have been around, I imagine, since man achieved a certain degree of intelligence. That's at least 200,000 years. That predates quite a few forms of entertainment by, oh, about 200,000 years. And there will surely be more to come.

Or "last" as in the only entertainment available to a 350 pound man-child living in his parents' basement? To that, you could be right.

Gaming is a luxury that comes when all the fields have been plowed and after all the crops have been harvisted.

Sound like what I read in the Bible. I think it was in Revelation. Something about the crops being harvested and the fields set a blaze.

If by gaming you mean designed experiences with engineered needs embedded within, then yes, gaming is the last and ultimate form because every other form can take place within it.

We all know that people will play even before all their responsibilities are done.

Anyway, gaming is certainly not the last form of entertainment. What forms of entertainment comes next is unknown, but VR is certainly positioned to be one of them.
