Games and sometimes computer crashing

Barton 2500+ at 11x200 with 1 gb pc3200 on a Shuttle AN35N Ultra. Everything works fine until I start UT2004 Demo of anything else like Ultima, then either the game or my computer crashes after a minute or so. Could this be a lack of voltage to the cpu? If so, the BIOS doesn't state what it's at right now, so what should I up it to?

What else could it be related to a new comp build? I'm all patched up software-wise.

Hmm...Duhur...could that be da prob? I think that could cause the problem by itself, and if not byitself it could cause more heat dissapation inside the case triggering the safe shutdown before it reaches its die temp.

Not heat related...the sides aren't even on the case at this point. I even got errors just trying to install a basic app. But, thus far, it's been rock solid.

haha. dude, the sides don't have to be on the case for the CPU to overheat.

and overclocking will always result in a less-stable system, which is what you were experiencing. by raising the voltage, you're trading CPU lifespan for reducing that hit in stability. not saying you shouldn't overclock, but just that you need to expect this kind of thing when you do it.

check RAM. when i first built my system, i constantly got crashes at random points whenever. i did a memtest, and my mem module was corrupt.

that's my chunk of advice. 🙂
