This has been eating at me for a few weeks now. I am seeing single digit frames when playing tf2 and cod4 at 1280x1024 with all the settings below recommendation. I bought a cpu/mobo combo at fry's, so I am unhappily using an ecs gf7050. It supports single channel ddr667 when I am running 2x1gb ddr2 800. Could this downclock & bottlenecking of double to single channel memory be the source of my problem?

e7200
ecs gf7050
8800gt
2x1gb ddr2 800
250gb sata
windows xp sp2

Thanks

It's probably the board...and the fact that you're downclocking your memory. Have you uninstalled the drivers for the onboard video and/or made sure they weren't installed with the other motherboard drivers? Also, that processor has a very low amount of cache, though that shouldn't affect you as much as the rest of the system.

Something doesn't sound right. RAM running at DDR2 667 should be negligible. Do you have the latest BIOS for the motherboard? Update all the drivers? If you can get away from using the included driver CD, instead download the latest drivers from the web for each component. Something seems to be conflicting.

Agreed. However, it is a very low-end budget board. ECS is known for that. How much did the combo cost, anyways?

You haven't accidentally plugged your monitor into the onboard video connector, rather than the card, have you? Sorry but that's the only thing i can think of...

It's got integrated. Geforce 7050. He might have left them on, causing a conflict. That's about the only reason that the frames would be that bad.
