GAMERS with 17 inch LCD's please look

hey, i was wondering if all you gamers out there who use a 17 inch LCD find it sufficent for games? i mean does it get the job done or do u guys feel the need for a 18 or 19?

hmmmmm nice question! well "I" want bigger but my pocket says :"noooo wayyy"
(that's why i have a Viewsonic Professional 22" P225FB Link )

I use a NEC Multisync 1760V, would prefer a larger monitor, but there aren't any 18- or 19-inch ones with 16ms response times

I have a Hyundai Q17 wich works perfectly. The only problem I have is color adjustment so I'm trying to find something like 3Deep!. No ghosting and great sharpness.

Hitachi CML174SXW (16ms, 17").
Been using since January. Excellent for everything.
No ghosting/trails/lag at all. More than big enough for games.
Remember that a 17" TFT is actually a 17" screen, and the measurment doesnt include the "rim" like on CRTs.

it all depends on your wallet. you can play games on a 15" too you know 😉

people don't buy a 17" because a 22" lcd is just hideously too big and scary 😉 lol

I have been a crt fan for years but I just got a Dell 18" Ultrasharp lcd and a Dell 1701 lcd two days ago. I config'd my ATI 9700 pro for full quality. Loaded up BF1942 on the 18' and I have -zero- ghosting even when moving my mouse back and forth rapidly. I then tested the 17' and as far as visible size is concerned, I couldn't tell a difference. I was impressed by both.

my samsung 171s is great for gaming. i'm pretty sure it's rated at 25ms. there is a barely noticeable "motion blur", but it doesn't really take away from the experience.

i only wish i had the cash to go dvi.

Of course a bigger monitor is always bigger but my VP171b seems just fine at 1280x1024. It's a 16ms monitor and it's great. No ghosting on even intense fps games.

I have the 171b also and am very happy with it. It did take a little while to get used to playing Q3 on it, I have no idea why but my aim accuracy was off. However the game looks better than it ever did on my 17" trinitron crt.

Another thing, the viewable area on a 17'' lcd is bigger than on a crt. The screen goes all the way to the edge, no border so if you're using a 17" monitor now your display area will actuall increase with the lcd.

My LCD is only a 15". I've had it for a year and a half and I'm perfectly happy with it. I have not been able to justify buying a larger one.

I have a Planar PX171M, I have no problems with it in games. The only thing that I dont like about it is that in movies, when a scene is really dark, it is sometimes hard to see what is going on (not sure if this is a common lcd problem or not). Other than that I really like this LCD.

I had that problem with my Viewsonic and finally realezed I could fux it by turning up the brightness on the monitor. I turned the brightness all the way up. Now its fine.
