apparently the video game industry is a multi billion dollar entity from the looks of it.

Well duh:p

I wouldn't worry about the GBA -- Gamecube linkup. It was an idea that looked cooler on paper than in reality. The logic behind it is getting kids to buy both the GBA and Gamecube versions of a game and allow them to interact. Boring..

Gamecube or PS2.
PS2 has a longer lifespan and better library, but Gamecube is more family oriented for the most part.
Both have a good library of family friendly games however.

what about an old school nintendo... there are 100's of titles, and you could buy 3 consoles, 6 controllers, and 50+ games for the price you would pay for any of the other systems :).

You should have been there for ColecoVision. That super controller with 4 buttons, a stick and a numeric keypad continues to confound me 15 years later!

LOL
Coleco predated NES by some years, so I guess when NES was around, Coleco was cheap, but in its heyday it was pretty enviable. The intellivision never seemed to confuse me the way Coleco did...
