The GF4 Ti Series now matches ATi in some new respects with hardware DVD decoding and nView. I've heard some good things about nView, but nothing on nVidia's hardware DVD decoding. The GF4 Ti4600 will have an estimated MSRP of $399. The Radeon 8500 retails for $238 at Newegg, and the PNY GF3 Ti500 retails for $295 at Newegg. The Radeon 8500 is the best card in terms of value, IMO.

That window transparency and nView look very interesting, after using the video transparency (blended window) with my Radeon, I can see that will be an important feature. I think it looks like nVidia is starting to concentrate on more than just speed with their cards. The Personal Cinema chip COULD be a big step forward IF it is implemented properly. I'm assuming the personal cinema's external TV tuner will simply be an addon making every GF4 possibly an AIW type card, with dual head no less.

I'm impressed, the price point IMHO, doesn't make it a winner, however, the introduction of the multimedia features that may actually work could give ATI a run for their money. I just hope they don't slack on their drivers just as ATI is starting to really shine with theirs. They may find it much more difficult making all that stuff work, than just making good drivers that make their cards fast.

Has anyone else noticed gamepc's results ALWAYS differ with the majority of other review sites.

Someone made some mistakes, in q3 running albeit versions 1.29 vs 1.30, with 1600x1200 on demo 4, both using 27.30 dets.
Anand ti 4600 ==160.6
Gamepc ti 4600==171.1 Looks pretty close...

Now on the same test,
Anand ti 4400==143.1
Gamepc ti 4400==100.5 wth?
