Truth. Stuttering is an integral feature of all Ubi games 😀

Well, considering your rig has enough power to play the stupid game twice at the same time, and if you still get stutter, then I will accept and appreciate the UBI stutter effect. It adds cinematic quality. :awe:

indeed.

In fact, its 'cinematic quality' is such an added value to our gaming experience that they might consider removing it and later offering it up as paid DLC.

Nameless Ubi exec: "Hell, why not? We've already gotten so far as to have them paying us to beta test the things!"

* throughout the boardroom, maniacal laughter is heard *

My machine should be able to crush this game. Sadly I find myself stuttering around in the super dark shadows of Kyrat at a yet to be supports ultra wide resolution.

If today was The Purge I would be looking up the address for Ubisoft headquarters.

Is this game that horrible?I almost bought Far Cry 3 but hearing about the uber rigs some of you have with stutter pretty much sold me on not buying it.Already bought Brokenfield 4 so not all that excited about UbiScrewed games if they are simply known for stuttering.

I do like the performance numbers for the 980@1080p,pretty much has amped me on it being a solid upgrade from my 770. Basically double the frame rate in this title which is awesome.

I played for @ 1/2 hr this morning. Since I have AMD cards, crossfire is still not an option. When I enable all the settings to Ultra per the Nvidia recommendations it's a bit sluggish. However if I change Ambient Occluson? to a lower setting it's better. Perhaps the fact that I'm effectively running on only 1 R9 290 because CF is not supported accounts for this?

I don't know if stuttering is quite the right word, it's more of a hitching that occurs every few seconds, like its loading new stuff into ram or something

I have no problems with FC4, no stuttering, everything running smooth. All settings on ultra except shadows on very high. This on GTX 970. I have also turned off god rays/volumetric fog, not due to performance, but out of preference. Game looks so much better, the colors more vibrant, that overbearing haze is no longer there.

What is the mouse acceleration issue? I have it just off in the game setting and notice nothing out of the ordinary using a Logitech M500 mouse with stock MS mouse drivers (I use X-Mouse Button Control to map the buttons).

Same thing here. I'm running pretty much everything on Ultra, but I turned off God Rays because I simply don't like the look of it. Feels like all it does is add this really hazy post processing effect to everything. The game feels much more crisp and vibrant without it IMO.

I actually turned off the "next-gen fur" for the same reasons. I guess it's a step in the right direction, but at the same time, it looks totally awkward and unconvincing. Gives the animals a serious uncanny valley feel.

I will try turning that off. The haze is a bit much.

Know what's really impressive? The fact that setting mouse acceleration to "off" in game doesn't really mean "off". Ubisoft's definition of "off" is apparently very different from everyone else's definition.

I dont see why they even include mouse acceleration at all. Does anyone using a mouse actually want that??? It must be that they coded for joysticks first then try to hack that code to work for mouse...

Mouse acceleration is on by default in windows because most casual users will have a budget mouse with a low dpi so for them a trip across the screen without it enabled would take forever.

Have the discussion about SLI somewhere else, and stop derailing this thread.

But hawtdawg is talking about SLI performance issues and lighting glitch/bug in FC4. Isn't that on topic?

"SLI shadowing is broken, and once the sun goes down in the FC4 environment, you are likely screwed as far as being able to see for a while if you are in a heavily shaded area. HardForum user "pandora's box" has a great post here outlining this issue. I am going to embed his pictures here for you to see."

I don't think there is anything wrong with bringing up this bug as hopefully enough users report it and Ubisoft fixes it.

the mods deleted the other posts. hawtdawg had said last month that he has NEVER had any issues with SLI so of course I commented here about it since this is a prime example of an issue that can occur. of course he just made up more excuses to defend himself and call people jealous. anyway that sums it up. lol. now back on topic.

Anyone here playing on a Gamepad? Been playing on my Xbox one controller and it has been very smooth at 60fps. Nice low frametimes over here..... But the game isn't too fun imo...

At 2560X1440, on ultra, soft shadows, SMAA, I was getting around 27 on my Gigabyte OC GTX 680. I just got a Gigabyte G1 GTX 970, and on same settings it is getting around 46. At that resolution, a 70% increase seems about right I guess.

All settings maxed with a 5930K @ 3.7GHz and 780 Ti GHz @ 1215MHz with no AA (including God Rays and Fur), around 60FPS+, dips down to 50FPS with those pretty rays in some areas, pretty screenshots:
