Gamefly problems

I just wanted to chime in and get some opinions on the Gamefly service. I just signed up a week ago and request 2 games. A day later I was notified that my two games shipped (Condemned and DOA4 for Xbox 360.) The "games" come in the mail 3 days later. I open up the envelope and inside is Frequency (A PS2 game.)

Boo. Not such a big deal, I would expect that they would have shipping errors every now and then. I was just a bit dissappointed especially considering this is my first order. I notified Gamefly 3 days ago about the mixup but still haven't heard back and the two Xbox 360 games still show up on my account as if they're currently in my posession.

I haven't yet sent back Frequency because an automated response told me to wait until I heard from Customer Service. They say their response time is normally 2-4 days. I'm right in the middle of that zone, but I would imagine that they wouldn't take so long to fix this mix.

Anyone here use GameFly for several months? How's your experience? Are there any good alternatives?

Update: About a week ago (after sending two or three unanswered e-mails) I get a message from Gamefly stating the following: "Occasionally games in your Q are not available, and Gamefly will alternatively send the next game on your list."

Well no sh*t, Sherlock. That still has nothing to do with the fact that I received a PS2 game (that was never on my Q) instead of 2 xbox games. They also didn't offer any guidance as to what I should do w/ the incorrect game I received.

I was upset enough to almost cancel my subscription when, lo and behold, Condemned comes in the mail...Wunderbar! I send a thank you message to Gamefly, notifying them that I received one of the two games, and that I still didn't have instructions on what to do with the PS2 game. I get a response a day or two later, instructing me to mail the game back, but cross out the barcode on the Frequency sleeve with a magic marker. Awesome, we're getting somewhere.

At this point, I'm still waiting for Dead or Alive. I'm not overly concerned, because I went snowboarding for about a week, and I'm still somewhat entertained by Condemned. (I'm not impressed by the game at all, but at least it's mildly entertaining.) Well guess what, today I get a Gamefly game sleeve in the mail. I open it expecting to see a copy of Dead or Alive, and what else do I see other than ANOTHER COPY OF CONDEMNED. WTF am I supposed to do w/ two copies of the same game? Beat the game twice? What, did they send me the Super Dooper Cool Condemned Version 10.0 that nobody else has? What a freaking mess...

It's a good thing I'm really unimpressed by the Xbox as far as games are concerned (multimedia functionality is very cool, however), otherwise I'd be upset that I'm not able to play a game that was ordered over 2 weeks ago.

I have very little patience when it comes to games, and I usually get bored very quickly. I'm very picky when it comes to spending $60 on entertainment, and unfortunately I don't think there are many Xbox games that are worth it to me at this point. I would rather pay $15 a month and play as many games as I like than have to buy games and then worry about selling or trading them.

I have a 2 month free subscription from them with my XBox 360 bundle and the only problem I have is that it takes too long between sending a game back in and getting the next one in your queue - blame it on USPS snail mail I guess. I've never used an online movie/game place other that my free Gamefly. Does Netflix and Blockbuster use the same shipping method?

Gamefly kills me. The Inglewood, CA distribution center is soooooooooo far away for us East Coasters. It can take up to 2 weeks total for me to send a game back before I get another one back.

I'm an East Coaster that's been using Gamefly's 2 at a time plan since the 17th of January. Over the past two weeks, their service has been nothing but stellar. I just mailed back my 4th game and my 5th is already processing due to the Fast Return service.

Much of the speed of Gamefly's service is dependent on the actions of the post office. As long as the postal workers scan the game through the ISO system, you will get quick service back from Gamefly.

Oh, I went there first but Blockbuster won't have any Xbox 360 games for another month or so. At least not the one near me.
