Gamefly needs to go

There is no point in keeping a "Q" on Gamefly because they seem to always send me a game from the bottom. I have 15 360 games at the top, and a few DS games down at the bottom to eventually play on the rare occaision that I'll travel or whatever.

Anyways, Gamely takes 4 days to get my last return in the mail and another day to shop my #16 game in the queue which is a DS game.

I plan on calling tomorrow to complain. I can understand sometimes if I cant get my #1 or #2 game immediately, but whatever wharehouse ships to me has a horrible inventory. #16??? after waiting for 5 days.

I recently canceled my gamefly account - due to lack of time for games, slow service, etc.
But a little advice.
Don't fill up your Q. What I did when I had the service was to add only 2 games onto my Q. That way, Gamefly has no choice but to ship to you the games you want.

Did that for Halo 3, Uncharted, and Call of Duty 4 on release day btw.

Well, I understand that would work, I refuse to do it. It should be automated, and I don't want to pick a new game each time I return one. Plus the extremely slow return times.
 
I havent had problems, but I only have 6 or so in queue, all PS3 games.

They also just in the last week added a new distro center. Maybe that will help things?
 
As far as I know, even with their smallish inventory Gamefly is still the best internet game rental place, and it REALLY matters where you live in reference to their distro centers. Gamefly is good, they just need to improve certain things (specifically what you've mentioned)
 
I've always wondered why some place like Netflix doesn't expand into offering console games as well as DVDs. They already have the business model down and the infrastructure...

Gamefly is HORRIBLE. I just canceled my membership there and I'm NEVER going back.

I had two games sent to me, Hitman: Blood Money and Bioshock. Neither arrived after 3 weeks of waiting. They refused to refund that month of service for me but offered me a month for half price. I canceled my account because it was about to auto renew and then they said they can't even give me the month half off because I canceled my account.

What a HORRIBLE business. Not to mention to get a new game took 4-5 days. (Live in the Midwest.)

I asked someone in OT that works for Blockbuster about that (forget his name. sorry whoever you are!) and he said that the costs for this kind of service for games was even more expensive than movies.

Way more for rentals I'm assuming. I used to work at Hollywood video and DVD's cost the store about $100 a pop for rental copies.

Also, when a new game comes out there is a big rush to rent it, but then the demand dies off, so it's tough to order the correct amount. All that being said, I shouldn't get the #16 game on my list, especially since I have a lot of older titles.

You sure about that? I also worked at a video store when DVDs first came out. The store was not required to buy 'special versions' of DVDs just for rental, and they often paid wholesale price thanks to the number purchased. VHS on the other hand, those were about $100 a pop except for tapes that were manufactured for sale to the public.

Perhaps they changed it since then, or the place I was working for was being shady 😉
 
I've had gamefly for a year and no problems with it.

Like someone already mentioned just only keep 2 games in your Q

For example I wanted to get Lost Odyssey, so I only had LO in my q. It got shipped to me on Wednesday. Don't fill up your Q

simple, DVD's are 2-3x cheaper and there is less demand for DVD's than Video games these days anyway.

Plus there are MORE ways to get DVD's, there is those $1 machines which take up half the market.
