Gamefly has ruined me :(

I came late to the console party, I have only had my PS3 for a few months. I decided I don't want to blow $60 on games, so I bought a few things through the online store and decided to join Gamefly. As it turns out, Gamefly is both a blessing and a curse. Whenever I get a new game in I know within 20 minutes if I'm going to bother finishing it or not. It is almost like years ago when I would pirate everything, I didn't pony up $50-$60 for the game so I didn't feel like I needed to get my money's worth out of it by finishing it.

I played almost all the way through heavenly sword, couldn't beat the last guy, sent it back, and watched the final cutscene on Youtube

I played about half way through RE4 on the Wii, got frustrated with it, and sent it back

I played 30 minutes of Onechanbara Bikini Zombie Slayers on the Wii, figured out it sucked and sent it back the same day

I did manage to finish Deadspace, Resistance, Call of Duty 5 (even paid to keep it), and a few other games, but man, if the next game I get starts to suck I think I will immediately just start sending them back and read about the storyline and watch cutscenes online

I agree with you Joemonkey. Most recently I rented Infamous, played it up until the last 2 missions, and I think the I was burnt out on the game and it lost its attraction to me, so I just wrapped it up and sent it back. I have done it to numerous games, although some of them I wish I had finished - Heavenly Sword for example. I don't buy games anymore because of Gamefly.

You've got to be spot on perfect and a little lucky at the same time to finish off Bohan in Heavenly Sword. That boss is ridiculous compared to the rest of the game.

I had gamefly for about a year and then ran out of games to play when I had played everything i was interested in. Cancelled it for about a year and last weekend I re-joined since there's a lot of new games I want to try without buying. Love me some gamefly...

with what parts? that was my top game of last generation.

I got to the point where you have to choose a path, either fight a gargantua or whatever or down a path with lots of people. I chose the lots of people path, and ran into 2 chainsaw women, and only had 5 bullets in my handgun and no grenades or ammo in any other guns.

Besides, the graphics seemed REALLY dated to me after playing other games in HD.

I thought he was really easy once I realized you could counter is fireball things. Before that I was trying to dodge them and it was pissing me off.

Gamefly sounds like something I need to try out as there's plenty of games I want to try but won't have much replay value. Can't really afford another monthly bill though... Boo-urns

I just traded in a bunch of games when I joined, but I think now though you have to be a member for 3 months before you can trade in games. I traded in ~6 Wii games that I never play any more and got ~$95 worth of credit, which translates into 3 months of "3 games at a time" charges

It's pretty cheap when you consider one new release game price covers almost 3 months of service.

Having been a member for over a year, the 10% off sitewide and the quarterly $5 off coupons make for good game deals. But I am in the same situation as the OP, I send shit back minutes after slapping it in the console. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party lasted all of 7 minutes.

I hated gamefly. Took them 2 weeks to send me the only game on my Q. I canceled after that.

they don't quite have the distribution centers that netflix does, but i don't mind supporting a company with the idea that they have

i have to admit i'm spoiled with netflix though, they have a distribution center in my city. If I send a movie back on Monday, they normally have another one deliverd to me on Tuesday

If Gamefly was like that I would probably go insane... "gee I could play 1 hour of this game then send it back and get another tomorrow!!!"

Games are a lot different than movies i suppose

I think I'm at the point where I'm too old to have any interest in games. Most of the 360/PS3 new releases would get a 5 or 6 out of 10 rating from me. I'll play a game for like 30 minutes and I already feel like I'm wasting my time.

I generally get that way, but Dead Space got me out of that rut. That game and COD:W@W let me get my "console hands" back from way back in the syphon filter 1 days, so I don't hate the lack of a M+KB that I have grown fond of quite as much

I do tend to enjoy games my 4yo daughter and my wife and I can all play together more so than just games I play by myself or online. Ultimate I Spy on Wii is a great example.

I agree. I just resigned up for game fly and got Halo Wars 2 days ago and i just sent it back in the morning. Great game but i have a PC for my RTS needs.
