Just got back from a computer show and bought Eternal Darkness for $14, I get home and pop the disc in and it says "The Game Disc could not be read. Please read the Nintendo GameCube Instruction Booklet for more information" Anyone have this problem before? I don't have a manual because I bought a refurb from Funco. ANY help would be appreciated. Thanks!

There's some light scratches on it, yes, but nothing deep. Might there be a way to buff them out or clean it up a bit? Could that be my issue? The lazer kinda gets the the edge of the disc and stops.

All it says in the manual is that the disc could be dirty or damaged and to try cleaning it with a cotton cloth.
Are you having problems with other games?

You could try one of those "SkipDr." things that resurface the discs. I'm not certain it would work on GameCube discs but I don't see why not.

I bought Eternal Darkness for $20 - $5 coupon = $15 + tax from BB a few months back.

Doesn't really help your situation but I thought I might rub it in :p ;)

I wouldn't use a skipdoctor. Tried to fix up a scratched Sonic Adventure 2 disc and it made it totally unreadable. I used some brasso on it afterward and it works perfect now. Just a heads up...

I think I heard there were some problems with the ED games. Like a few will render your GC unplayable afterwards...just a rumor. Try popping another game to see if your GC is still working.
