I'm sure starting another thread with this title is going to stop all the bashing.

<< and to those pc fanboys.....paying 350 for halo and an xbox is cheaper than paying 2000 for a top of the line computer >>

you do realize this is a pc enthusiast forum, right?

btw.. dreamcast is officially the best console out right now... $49 for a 128bit console with awesome classics.... shenmue, guilty gear, phantasy star, skies of arcadia, etc.... sheesh even the old playstation and n64 cost more than this

I can't find DC for less than $79 i think? I was thinking of buying one for brother for Xmas but it looks like he may be begging an Xbox out of my parents, so it would be a little anti-climatic.

Toys R Us on Friday only -- $49. The one I went to has a whole stack of them set up @ $79.99 and no one's touching them...

...and I just bought a used one for $50. :|

EDIT: TRU, not BB, sorry! 🙂

<< Already finished FFX.

Played Halo too.

Halo is crap compared to FFX.

preach on brother!

man who wouldnt want to play a game with yuna in it???

BB will have the DreamCast for $49.99 this Friday and Saturday...or at least that is what the ad says.

Are u sure????I visited the BB site yesterday and they said they have 5 hours sale from 7am this Friday. I hope we can grab a DC at that price.

Looking back at the ad, I'm not sure what times on Friday and Saturday it will be at $49.99, but it def. says Friday and Saturday.

link...give me your opinion...cause I'm wanting one myself.

gamecube is lame. all it has are kids games. xbox is ok but other than halo its got no games. PS2 has the best developer contracts. GT3....mmmm. MGS2 w00t. and seriously, gamecube just looks retarded.

PS2 is king right now cause its game library is just so awesome.... but i think gamevube is the superior console in the long run with the best hardware and developers kit.

The Cube has the most powerful cpu.... its 64bit 400mhz RISC chip is much more powerful than xbox's 32bit CISC chip

Cube has the most advanced ram with the largest cache and lowest latency rates...

Cube has by far the easist developers kit for game software developers.

Resident Evil is on GameCube... i dont think thats a kiddie game...

anyways... the PS2 is the best right now, Gamecube withh realize its potential soon and be king but only for a little while until PS3 comes out. xbox's only hope is to buy out every developer and hope that the japanese will grow to like it.

That's almost definitely all day Friday and Saturday...so no real rush on Friday morning to get it UNLESS you worry they will run out. This sale is basically to eliminate inventory so I don't expect them to restock once the Dreamcasts sell out.

CC will have the DC Sports Bundle (NFL 2K1, NBA 2K1, WSB 2K1) for $69 (don't know if it is Friday 5 hour or all day Fri-Sat). Perhaps those Dreamcasts you saw piled up were manufactured after Oct 2000, which was when Sega switched to the new anti-pirate BIOS. When I bought my DC last week I had to search a bit to find one from June 2000. People are keen on the date issue.

And you know this because you develop games?

Seems logical that since the XBOX is just an MS kernal with a penitum chip that development for this system would be the easiest. Most PC engines are probably simply ported and then re-compiled for XBOX optimization.

royaldank,

I bought a Dreamcast sports pack back in August with a manufacture date of Nov 2000. It could not read CD-Rs at all whether they were backups or audio cds. I took it back and exchanged it for a plain Dreamcast w/ a date of June 2000. It read the backups fine so if anyone is looking at buying a Dreamcast take time to look in the little window on the back of the box and check the date it was manufactured.
